Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No.6 in F Major, Op.68, "Pastorale" CIM Orchestra Joel Smirnoff, conductor October 27, 2010 Beethoven's 6th Symphony was finished in 1808 and first performed on December 22, 1808 in the Theater An Der Wien. The work is entirely programmatic in content and a staple among symphonic repertoire. Joel Smirnoff, President of the Cleveland Institute of Music, conducts the CIM Orchestra.
